I’m curious how the distinction will emerge between people who think the iPad is a joke and people who have moral or other qualms with it.

Play all the category games you want, but the iPad is a personal computer. Apple has decided that openness is not a quality thatâs necessary in a personal computer. Thatâs disturbing.
This excellent post by @al3x contains both my largest fear as well as 100% of the reason that I dislike and fear the iPad system.
And I do think that we should start calling it a system.
By the way, Michelle’s reaction to the iPad: 1) terrible, terrible name 2) photos, calendar, & addresses are awesome 3) I want one.
